Farewell AikaneX5!
On February 7th 2012 AikaneX5 found its way onto the beach at Black Rock on Kaanapali Beach Maui in front of the Sheridan Hotel. A series of events which started with high Kona winds and high waves created a scenario where the boat was ordered to be moved from Kaanapali to Mala in a deeper water / safer mooring. Killer, Brad, and Pappa were on Oahu having sailed over the previous day. Captain Michelle attempted the move and had engine problems with the port engine forcing her to make the decision to beach X5 rather than end up on the rocks. The rest is history. AIKANE X5 is the pride of our small fleet. We offer one of a kind cruises you simply will not find on any other boat in the Maui for groups of 12 and under. X5 is a 62 foot Catamaran build by Rudy Choy as a World Class racing catamaran. This catamaran won the TransPacific yacht race from Los Angeles to Honolulu each time it entered, and made a world record pass as a solo in the mid 80's. It won nearly every race it entered. Currently X5 is configured as a “Power” catamaran and designed to be what we feel is the most comfortable ride on the water. The boat is equipped with a beautiful roomy cabin and food serving facilities. We have a fresh water shower and first class snorkel equipment and towels . A rest room facility is located below deck. It does not matter if you are staying in Lahaina, Kapalua, Wailea, Kihei, or Kahului Maui. The best private charters and share boat charters for whale watching, snorkeling, and sunset cruises is on the West side of Maui off Kaanapali beach!

We go where the weather is the best for passenger comfort, normally snorkel at Honolua bay, or at times South of Lahaina. On special occasions we go to Shark Fin Rock located on the West side of the island of Lanai, or to Club Lanai located on East Lanai. Our food service consist of vegetables/dip, crackers and cheese Pupus, Teriyaki beef, chicken and Mongolian beef and rice. Fresh Mahi-Mahi and Ono are available when we catch them on voyage. Nearly anything is available on special request. The Cocktail cruise is off shore West of Maui in the calm trade winds and we return to shore right at sunset.
Our vessel is USCG inspected and certified for 49 passengers, however we limit this to 12 (this can be expanded for private charters and special request, up to 24) people. We use US Coast Guard certified Captains and a trained crew members.
We are an Owner/Operator family business. We are not tied to the railroad tracks most boats are tied to. If we are having too much fun and the client is willing, we will continue the cruise. With most other boats 4 hour charters are just that, 4 hours on the nose, where we are apt to stay out if the customer is willing. The boat is moored off of Black Rock, in Kaanapali. Our loading procedure is unique and fun, using a sixteen foot inflatable dingy we load right off the beach in front of the Leilani Restaurant, Kaanapali, parking is convenient at Whalers Village. After a short ride it is an easy step up to the deck of Aikane X5.
We typically fish while cruising and when we catch that fighting Mahi, we will also provide fillet's from this catch for you to enjoy during the cruise.
